Prof El Gammal is working as a director of Drainage Research Institute (DRI) since end of January 2019, National Water Research Center (NWRC), Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation(MWRI), Egypt. He completed his PhD in Environmental science and Engineering, Ain Shams University. Joined DRI in 1988, he has a wide experience in irrigation and drainage field. He worked as secretary General of NWRC from 2012-2018. During the 33 yearsâ€™ period, he actively contributed to projects and researches with national and international organizations: - Investigated, designed and constructed Pilot areas of drainage systems; - Independent Consultant for Wastewater Treatment Plants Pre investigation Studies, Design, Monitoring and Evaluation, USAID, Life Project (2007 - 2008), Egypt - Assisted EU commission missions in development of water quality management proposals, (2006 â€“ 2010) - Technical Secretary for High Water Council formed by Prime Minister Decree in 2009 - Working on developing water management measures in Agricultural sector with GIZ, assisted JICA in developing water Resources management in Nile Delta; - Reviewing and editing technical reports from NWRC Institutes and reporting to President of NWRC (2012-2018) - Train young and professional engineers from Egypt and Africa in water quality management, legislation, and EIA for irrigation and drainage projects - Represent NWRC and MWRI permanently in High committee for water in Ministry of Health and population (MOHP), committee for village sanitation in Ministry of Housing and new communitiesâ€™ development, - Last publications: - Talaat A.
