Wastewater Treatment and Reuse:
• Lake Manzala Engineered Water Research Station (LMWRS):
Lake Manzalah Engineered Wetland Project by The Egyptian Environment Affairs Agency (EEAA) in Port Said, to treat 25,000 m3 per day of the polluted drainage water. Later on, the wetland was transported to DRI to convert it into a water research station for water treatment and reuse. Currently, LMWRS is working on two main topics
• Low cost treatment
• Reuse for of treated water in irrigation and fish farming
• The Operational Drainage Water Reuse Guidelines:
These Guidelines were built based on information and data from very extensive agricultural, environmental and socio-economic field monitoring programs, as well as from various national and international water quality standards.
